Summer League

Secondly, we have had to reduce the number of teams this year to just one, focusing on high quality match play, but still offering opportunity to members who wish to try. One of our junior members is poised to make his debut of which I am sure he will be a success (having faced him this morning at socials)

Blaby have made a winning start in this years summer league, with the first match being played on Thursday away at Hinckley (on their famous Wimbledon coloured courts) on the hottest day of the year so far. Congratulations to the team on a fantastic opening match. Hopefully more great tennis to come.

The Club House

Thirdly, we are excited to inform you that we have been given the funding to help complete a much needed renovation for the club house. Plans are already in motion, material has been brought in and dates have been set.

We want to thank the members who have put their names forward to help out. If you would like to put your name forward please contact Dan Rawlings to get your name added to the list, anything you can do to help, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated.

Retirement News

Lastly we say goodbye to a longstanding member and formerly the oldest player at the club, Trevor Baggett, hanging up his racquet at young age of 80! We thank you for the years of loyal membership and a staple of the midweek Senior game. It has been a pleasure to share a court with you, that lefty game and cat like reflexes at the net will be long remembered.

Thanks reader for all your support for the club. More to come.

Yours,

Blaby Victoria Tennis Club
